A TRIBUTE TO JOHN MACARTHUR
The first and only time I personally met John MacArthur was years ago in Orlando, Florida, where he and I were invited by R.C. Sproul—his best friend—to speak at Ligonier’s 2017 National Conference: The Next 500 Years. If you do not know who John MacArthur is, you have not realized how much contribution he has brought into the world. He left the world with a legacy filled with preaching and writing.
I am personally very sad to hear about John MacArthur’s passing. I heard this news right after the concert in Philadelphia, which is the second last city for our Grand Concert Tour - The Symphonic Voyage from Indonesia. Since Sunday, we had been praying for him, his family, and his church after hearing the news about his then-condition. Though sad, at the same time, I know that he is now back home with the Lord.
Last Tuesday, for our concert in Los Angeles, I was delighted to see so many people from Grace Community Church in attendance. It had the biggest amen from all of the cities in our tour—it was a joy to conduct for a crowd filled with so many believers. Last Wednesday, I visited Grace Community Church, The Master’s Seminary, and The Master’s University where John MacArthur’s contributions were seen all around. On that wonderful day, I met with many of their leadership, and I know that there are faithful men to carry on the work that John MacArthur had been doing so relentlessly.
His lifelong ministry to the Christian world is so precious and so meaningful for millions of people. May God bless his work and all who are blessed through him as well. We hope that he will enjoy eternal peace and we expect that God will receive his ministry and bless this world by raising up more and more young people to follow his steps in serving the Lord, in preaching the gospel, and in writing words of wisdom to rescue this world from liberalism and evil.
May John MacArthur’s legacy be a blessing for generations of people.
May all glory be to God alone, forever and ever. Amen.
